Why we only cover offline games

Why we only cover offline games

April 3, 2026 · Markus Vogel

People sometimes ask why we limit ourselves to offline games when so many popular titles need a connection. The honest answer is that we built this site around the moments when you cannot connect.

A train through a tunnel, a flight, a basement cafe, a campsite. Those are exactly the times you most want a game, and exactly when half the app store stops working. Offline titles turn dead time into play time.

There is also a quieter benefit. Offline games tend to avoid aggressive timers and constant nudges, because they cannot phone home to schedule them. That usually means a calmer, more respectful experience.

So the rule stays. If a game cannot be played with the signal off, it does not make it into our catalog, no matter how good it looks in trailers.
