Emberfall Chronicle

★★★★★ 4.7 Editor rating

Emberfall Chronicle is the kind of offline RPG I wish there were more of. You build a party of four, explore a hand-drawn continent, and fight in clean turn-based battles that reward planning over grinding. The story about a fading ember kingdom actually kept me up a couple of nights.

Combat uses a timeline system, so you can see turn order and plan your spells around it. Gear and skill trees are generous without being overwhelming, and there is no energy timer forcing you to stop. The save works anywhere, which is exactly what you want on a long train ride.

My only nitpick is the font size on smaller phones. Otherwise this is a complete, polished adventure that respects your time and never once asked for a connection.
